Creative Living is a Bitch Sometimes
If we’re constantly dropping the ball on things, we will eventually stop trying to juggle, but with practice and simple strategies we can learn to catch multiple balls & have fun doing it.
A quick note: I’m opening up several more spots for creative mentorships.
I have a new and stable living environment for the first time in a while and it’s opening up space to take on more work. I’m living in a partially renovated bus until my tiny house is complete in the spring; I’ve been sharing this on my Instagram and by request, I’ll be writing more and more here on my Substack to share the transitions and the process.
I often get asked what it is that I do. Primarily right now, I work with beauty professionals via my agency The Growth Angle, but from time to time I work outside of the scope of that to work with creatives who simply want to enrich and take ownership of their experience through the pursuit of creative living- this is what I’m offering right now.
Most of my creative clients work full-time jobs that demand a lot of them while they’re trying to balance relationships, self-care and emotions, “side hustles”, hobbies and all of their other everyday responsibilities, and the near-constant state of overwhelm feels crippling at best, creatively void at worst. Focus becomes a near-impossible luxury in this state.
I offer a dedicated space to clarify priorities and strategies to ground into ideas so they can be brought to life. We need structure and systems to support the weight of our big goals, and often all it takes is having a 90 minute conversation once a month to take out the trash and get clear; simply stopping and taking stock of our reality allows the answers to come in.
We need this clarity so we can be intentional in how we operate, be intentional with our resources, and have space to flow and actually enjoy the process of creating and the rewards it brings.
We stop ourselves from being successful in our pursuits if we are already struggling to manage the weight of our current responsibilities. Success comes with more responsibility, in other words, our capacity to manage our responsibilities is directly tied to how much success we allow ourselves to have.
If we’re constantly dropping the ball on things, we will eventually stop trying to juggle, but with practice and simple strategies we can learn to catch multiple balls, add more into the flow, and have fun doing it.
Mentorship includes:
- Monthly 90 minute deep dive Zoom call where we look at the big picture, get clear on the priorities for the month and set objectives.
- Weekly energy audits, a self-coaching exercise to create a habit of checking in and taking ownership of your experience
- Voice messaging access to ask clarifying questions as things come up
The rate is $200/month and is a quarterly (3 month) commitment.
My approach is “slow down to speed up,” and “less, but better.” Meaning, we aren’t shooting for overnight results, but a more purposeful, immersive experience of enjoying the process. I price and structure my offering for this particular service according to these values that I hold dearly.
If you are interested in partnering with me as an advisor, email me and we can jump on the line to clarify our expectations and answer any questions about the service or my qualifications.
If you’re not ready to commit to 3 months but would like to have a call with me, I am available on an hourly basis. Email me to book.
If this isn’t for you, and you know someone who has been looking for a trusted advisor, I rely on word of mouth referrals to sustain this work. Please feel welcome to send them my info.
With respect,
kelsey
